Hanwha Life is reinforcing its commitment to technological innovation and talent development in Vietnam by sponsoring the 6th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad. The event, held on March 21-22 at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), saw record participation and introduced an Artificial Intelligence (AI) track for the first time.
As the exclusive sponsor for the second consecutive year, Hanwha Life is positioning itself as a key player in fostering Vietnam’s digital future. The competition attracted 2,848 students from 525 institutions, reflecting a 19.5% and 48.3% increase, respectively, from the previous year. This surge underscores the growing interest in Vietnam’s IT sector and the increasing competitiveness of its young talent.
AI track marks a new milestone
The introduction of the AI track marks a significant step in the Olympiad’s evolution. Aligning with Hanwha Life’s broader vision of AI and digital finance innovation, this initiative highlights the company's ongoing investment in AI research and business expansion. Hanwha Life operates dedicated AI divisions, including the AI Research Lab and Hanwha AI Center (HAC) in San Francisco, which focus on advancing financial technology and personalized digital experiences.
Phùng Nguyễn Như Bách, the AI track winner, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to showcase Vietnam’s AI capabilities on a global stage. Last year’s Super Cup champion went on to compete at the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), securing multiple medals.
Financial literacy and CSR commitments
Hanwha Life also hosted the "Hanwha Life Lecture Series" during the event, featuring a keynote on digital finance by Jung Yoo Shin, head of Korea Digital Economic and Financial Institute. This initiative aims to enhance financial literacy and expand Vietnam’s financial education infrastructure.
Senior Executive Vice President of Hanwha Life, Hong Jeong-pyo, emphasized that these efforts align with the company’s global corporate social responsibility program, ‘Future Plus Global.’ By investing in education and AI talent, Hanwha Life continues to play a crucial role in shaping Vietnam’s technological and financial landscape.
