CaixaBank has reaffirmed its commitment to gender diversity, setting a target to have 45% of managerial positions held by women by 2027. The bank has steadily increased female representation in leadership, rising from 39.9% at the end of 2021 to 43.4% in 2024. Notably, it surpassed its previous goal of 43% a year ahead of schedule, reaching this milestone in 2023.

Currently, women make up 57.4% of CaixaBank’s workforce, with 40% representation on its Board of Directors. In addition, 49.4% of Store branch managers are women, and over the past year, women accounted for 54.4% of new managerial hires.

Advancing diversity and equal opportunity

Diversity, meritocracy, and equal opportunity form the foundation of CaixaBank’s corporate culture. The bank actively promotes inclusion and gender balance through both internal policies and external initiatives aimed at fostering equality in the workplace and beyond.

A key component of this effort is the Wengage program, a cross-cutting initiative designed to advance diversity across multiple dimensions, including gender, generational, cultural, and LGBTI representation. The program supports internal policies such as promotion shortlists and mentorship plans, which led CaixaBank to become the first company in Spain to receive AENOR certification for its mentoring program.

External initiatives supporting diversity

Beyond its internal measures, CaixaBank promotes gender equality through various external initiatives. These include the CaixaBank Woman Entrepreneur Award and Self-Employed Woman Award, which recognize female leadership, as well as the WONNOW Awards, which encourage women in STEM fields. The bank also supports women in sports and rural entrepreneurship through partnerships and research initiatives.

CaixaBank’s commitment to diversity has earned it numerous accolades, including the Equality in the Company Award (DIE) from Spain’s Ministry of Equality and the Level A Excellence certification from Fundación Másfamilia.
