Tune Protect Group has teamed up with Collinson International, a leader in airport experiences and loyalty solutions, to offer added convenience to travelers impacted by flight delays. Through this new partnership, Tune Protect’s eligible customers can access Collinson's network of over 1,600 airport lounges globally, turning an inconvenient delay into a more comfortable travel experience.
How Delay Lounge Pass improves the travel experience during flight delays
The initiative, called Delay Lounge Pass, is available to travelers who purchase specific AirAsia travel insurance plans powered by Tune Protect. If a flight is delayed by two hours or more, these policyholders will automatically receive a notification of the delay and a digital lounge access voucher, allowing them to relax in lounges at airports worldwide.
Recent research highlights the widespread impact of flight delays, with over 33 million travelers across Asia Pacific experiencing delays of more than an hour. Stress during travel is common, with a survey revealing that six out of ten passengers feel anxiety before their flights, and "Fear of Switching Off" (FOSO) can affect their entire journey. As air travel costs remain high in the Asia Pacific region, this partnership offers a unique opportunity for brands to enhance customer relationships by reducing travel stress.
Why Tune Protect’s partnership with Collinson International matters for travelers
Todd Handcock, Global Chief Commercial Officer and Asia Pacific Executive Chair at Collinson International, noted, "Passenger numbers are set to rise significantly by 2025, putting pressure on travel infrastructure. Our partnership with Tune Protect will help alleviate travel stress during delays by offering travelers relaxing options at airports worldwide."
How Kim Lian, Group CEO of Tune Protect, added, "This initiative highlights our commitment to customer-centric solutions. By offering airport lounge access, we aim to elevate our customers’ travel experiences and strengthen our position in the regional travel ecosystem."
This collaboration promises to make air travel more seamless, offering travelers peace of mind during unforeseen delays.
