CIC introduces flexible mortgage for non-traditional workers

23/09/2024 News

Securing a mortgage can be difficult for those without a traditional full-time employment contract (CDI). Freelancers, temporary workers, micro-entrepreneurs, and other non-traditional employees often struggle to get home loans, even though they represent nearly 4 million workers in France, about 13% of the workforce.

To address this challenge, CIC has launched the "Prêt Immo Nouvelles Formes d'Emploi" (New Employment Forms Mortgage). This mortgage is designed for clients without a CDI, allowing flexible repayment options that adjust to fluctuating incomes. Borrowers can increase or decrease their monthly payments without fees or justification, helping them manage irregular earnings more easily.

"Many of our clients work outside the traditional CDI model, but they still want to become homeowners," said Daniel Baal, CIC’s President. "This new offer meets their needs with a loan that adapts to their income, reflecting our commitment as a mission-driven company."

Claude Koestner, Deputy General Manager of CIC, added, "We offer flexibility to our advisors so they can better assess the repayment capabilities of clients without a CDI, ensuring they have access to the credit they deserve."

A loan that adjusts to the customer's income

In today’s evolving job market, CIC’s new loan helps non-CDI workers by considering factors like job continuity, income growth, and savings ability. The loan allows borrowers to adjust monthly payments by up to 50% for one to four months each year, based on their financial situation. These adjustments, which can be made up to 10 times over the life of the loan, come without fees or extra paperwork.

The process is convenient, too—applicants can apply through the CIC app, where a simulator shows how payment adjustments impact their budget and loan cost.

This innovative mortgage solution reflects CIC’s commitment to supporting a modern, diverse workforce in achieving homeownership.
