Kiwibank launches new series to guide Kiwis through first home buying

19/07/2024 News

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) and Kiwibank have joined forces to produce a new series titled On the Ladder with Kiwibank, focusing on the journey of first-time home buyers in New Zealand’s intricate real estate market.

This upcoming series will delve into the highs and lows of acquiring a first home, showcasing various buying strategies, including co-ownership and alternative models. The show aims to provide practical advice, tools, and support for New Zealanders navigating their path to home ownership.

For Kiwibank, the series represents a commitment to helping more people achieve their property goals. Simon Hofmann, General Manager of Brand and Marketing at Kiwibank, emphasizes the bank's dedication to making home ownership accessible. “Home ownership is a major goal for many Kiwis, but it’s increasingly challenging,” Hofmann explains. “While there are numerous shows about luxury properties, none address the hurdles faced by first-time buyers. This series is our way of supporting locals by guiding them through the complexities of buying their first home.”

Matt Barthow, WBD ANZ Senior Director of Content, highlights the series' broad appeal. “On the Ladder with Kiwibank reflects our commitment to producing relevant, original content that resonates with New Zealanders. By sharing personal stories from across the country, we aim to create a show that is both engaging and educational.”

The series will add to Kiwibank’s portfolio of local content investments, including their podcast When the Facts Change, TVNZ’s Sunday Business for Better, and the Mind Over Money series with Nigel Latta.

On the Ladder with Kiwibank is set to premiere later in 2024 on Three, ThreeNow, and YouTube. The host will be announced soon.
