Agriculture is a significant SME sector in its own right in many financial institutions given its important contributor to economies, food chains, employment and exports. Many banks have dedicated Agri divisions and teams supporting farmers. The traditional challenges of producer expansion and efficiency have been overtaken by global impacts of climate change and sustainability imperatives, commodity price inflation and supply chain issues; some arising from the conflict in Ukraine. Business models are being significantly challenged with radical transition necessary in enterprises to adapt to survive and meet the changing environment, support UN sustainability goals and serve the future global market place.
This online session will gather global leaders of FSI to highlight best practices and reveal the plans of near future in Agribanking. The online session will open a summer season dedicated to interview series and a research paper on Agribanking trends and best practices to be published in Q3/ 2023.
