In a pioneering move in the insurance industry, AXA France will include emergency housing and comprehensive victim support in all home insurance contracts starting April 1, 2025. The initiative aims to better protect victims of domestic violence by offering immediate help in their time of greatest need.
Emergency relocation and legal support
The new coverage includes two key guarantees: a seven-day emergency relocation for victims (and their children, if applicable), and legal, psychological, and financial assistance provided by a specialized team at AXA’s legal protection subsidiary, Juridica. Victims will have access to a dedicated legal assistance line and a 24/7 support team tasked with finding secure temporary housing.
AXA France CEO Guillaume Borie emphasized the company’s responsibility to protect clients not just from natural disasters but also from domestic violence. “We’re putting our expertise in relocation and support services to work for those facing this invisible crisis,” he said.
A decade of commitment
This new offering builds on a decade of AXA France’s commitment to combating domestic abuse through its Elle’s Angels program. Since 2015, the initiative has supported over 2,000 women, providing legal guidance and covering nearly €1.4 million in legal fees.
To raise awareness, AXA will launch a national media campaign across TV, social media, and public spaces. The company hopes its groundbreaking guarantees will inspire broader industry action and offer new hope to those facing abuse at home.
