The platform has experienced significant growth in deposits, transactions, purchases, and revenue, reinforcing its position as a key player in Colombia’s digital banking sector.

Impact on underserved communities

A major highlight of Daviplata’s expansion is its impact on underbanked communities. According to Davivienda, 4.5 million Colombians rely on Daviplata as their only financial product, while 2.4 million microbusinesses use it for transactions. The bank has also been actively working to include young people, ethnic groups, migrants, and vulnerable populations in the financial system.

Digital advancements and sustainability goals

In 2024, Davivienda made key digital advancements, including a redesigned interface and the launch of a new virtual store. These updates are part of the bank’s broader effort to enhance efficiency through automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence. Nearly 93% of Davivienda’s Colombian customers now use digital banking services, compared to 72% in Central America.

Additionally, Davivienda strengthened its digital payments ecosystem with the acquisition of ePayco, a move aimed at expanding its offerings in the rapidly growing fintech space. The bank also reported a 7% annual increase in its consolidated gross loan portfolio, reaching COP$145.5 trillion.

Looking ahead, Davivienda is targeting sustainability, with 17% of its loan portfolio dedicated to green financing and a goal to reach 30% by 2030. The bank’s ongoing investments in digital and sustainable banking underscore its commitment to financial inclusion and innovation in Colombia and beyond.
