Financial Innovation Spotlight – February 2025

AI-powered banking: Enhancing customer experience and efficiency

A core focus of the initiative is leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to improve customer service and operational efficiency. CaixaBank will integrate AI-driven tools to enhance both employee and customer experiences, streamlining transactions and optimizing service models in branches. AI-powered self-service tools will provide customers with greater control over their finances, while automation will reduce administrative tasks for employees.

Additionally, AI will support decision-making by analyzing business data, enabling CaixaBank to offer personalized financial solutions. The bank also aims to create a seamless integration between its physical, digital, and remote banking services, improving flexibility and service quality.

Cloud and AI: The future of banking technology

The “Cosmos” plan includes two major technological programs focused on cloud computing and AI-driven data analytics. These initiatives will enhance real-time data processing and improve business intelligence capabilities. CaixaBank plans to accelerate its cloud transition by developing a scalable and automated infrastructure, allowing for faster implementation of new services and security enhancements.

Investing in talent: CaixaBank to hire 3,000 new employees

To support this transformation, CaixaBank will expand its technology workforce by hiring 3,000 young professionals over the next three years, including 1,000 IT specialists. This recruitment effort aligns with the bank’s long-term strategy to strengthen its technological expertise and drive digital innovation in the financial sector.

By integrating AI, cloud computing, and automation, CaixaBank’s “Cosmos” plan aims to set new standards in banking technology, enhancing efficiency while improving the customer experience.
