BNP Paribas and BPCE have finalized their strategic partnership to create Estreem, the new French leader in payments processing, with ambitions to rank among Europe’s top three processors by 2028. Estreem will handle 17 billion card transactions annually, covering 30% of France’s card payments, and aims to expand across Europe.

Advanced technology and seamless payments

Combining BNP Paribas and BPCE’s expertise, Estreem will provide state-of-the-art payment processing solutions, including instant payments, multi-scheme capabilities (Visa, Mastercard, CB), and digital payment integration like Wero. This joint venture will offer optimized services to individual and business clients while supporting growing digital payment demands.reta

Roadmap and leadership for European expansion

Estreem’s development roadmap includes building its technology platform by 2026, transferring operations from both banks by 2028, and expanding to key European markets like Belgium and Italy. With Antoine Leclercq as CEO and Vincent Querette as Deputy CEO, Estreem will employ 300 staff from the existing Partecis partnership. This initiative reflects BNP Paribas and BPCE’s commitment to innovation, delivering reliable and secure payment solutions for merchants and consumers while driving digital transformation in France and Europe.
