Groupe BPCE has announced a significant technological initiative as part of its VISION 2030 strategy, aiming to create a shared technology platform for Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Epargne. Over the next four years, the group will transition from two separate systems to a unified information system, enhancing operational efficiency and generating economies of scale. This ambitious project is set to improve service delivery to 35 million customers and provide better tools for employees, supporting the development of local banking services across France.

Enhancing digital capabilities and customer experience
The shared platform will enable regional banks to meet evolving customer expectations through personalized services and top-tier technical quality. It addresses key challenges such as payment modernization, digital usage growth, artificial intelligence development, and cybersecurity. Employees will benefit from an improved daily experience, enhancing their advisory roles.
Technological backbone for future growth
Following a year of preparatory work involving both banks and BPCE divisions, the chosen solution is based on an enhanced version of Caisse d’Epargne’s information system. This infrastructure will serve as the technological backbone for future banking and insurance services, simplifying maintenance and enabling innovation. The project, led by Ludovic Favarette under the supervision of Laurent Benatar, will preserve the unique identities of both banking networks while driving development and maintaining high service standards. Subject to consultation with social partners, this initiative underscores BPCE’s commitment to advancing its retail banking ambitions in France through cost-effective technological advancements and rapid market implementations.
