Maybank has introduced HERpower, an initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs across Southeast Asia. Under its broader myimpact SME platform, HERpower seeks to grow Maybank’s women-led SME portfolio from 20% to 25% by 2026. Targeting over 43 million women-centric SMEs in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia, this initiative provides tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of female entrepreneurs.
Financial support designed for women entrepreneurs
HERpower offers several benefits, including collateral-free digital financing of up to RM1 million, with conditional instant approvals for amounts up to RM500,000. Participants also receive complimentary first-year Persona Lady insurance coverage, access to upskilling workshops, and wellness programs. These offerings aim to address both the professional and personal development of women entrepreneurs.
Celebrating women entrepreneurs on a global stage
The launch event, held on Global Women Entrepreneurship Day, featured a panel discussion titled Women-Led Business – Doing Whatever It Takes. Esteemed speakers included Nurul Zulkifli of Mimpikita, Esther Low of Dai Ga Jay, and Summer Phang of Financio. The session highlighted the resilience and innovation of women leaders, inspiring attendees to scale new heights.
Comprehensive solutions for SMEs of all sizes
In addition to HERpower, Maybank has introduced SME bundles—SME Lite, SME Up, and SME Top—designed to support businesses at various stages. These packages offer streamlined account setup, payroll tools, and complimentary services like POS terminals and accounting solutions, further empowering SMEs.
“HERpower is part of our commitment to financial inclusivity and sustainable impact,” said Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar, Group CEO of Maybank Community Financial Services. “By addressing the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, we aim to create a supportive ecosystem that drives regional growth and innovation.”
With HERpower, Maybank reaffirms its dedication to humanizing financial services and fostering economic empowerment across Southeast Asia.
