CaixaBank deploys mobile branches to serve storm-affected towns

11/11/2024News

In response to recent severe weather, CaixaBank has deployed mobile branches to provide essential banking services in towns across the Valencian Community. The initiative, designed to assist communities impacted by the cold front and DANA (High-Altitude Isolated Depression), began serving residents in Algemesí, Benetússer, Paiporta, Aldaia, and Albal. Additional locations are being considered to ensure comprehensive support. With over 95% of its branches reopened and the majority of ATMs operational, CaixaBank is prioritizing access to banking services for all affected customers.

Mobile branches deliver essential services

CaixaBank’s mobile offices offer crucial banking services, such as cash withdrawals, loan moratorium management, and insurance processing, in areas where branches remain closed. This initiative is coordinated with the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (CECOPI) and local municipalities to evaluate and expand service to other towns as needed. By re-establishing services in key areas, CaixaBank is ensuring continuity and convenience for residents during the recovery period.

Aid measures for affected communities

To further support those impacted by the DANA, CaixaBank has introduced a robust aid package. This includes a 0% financing line for immediate needs, loan payment moratoriums for up to 12 months, and automatic renewals on maturing revolving credit lines for small businesses and self-employed customers. Through MicroBank, financial support is being extended to small businesses, while AgroBank has allocated €300 million for the agri-food sector to aid damaged farms and crops.

Community support through donations

In collaboration with social organizations like the Spanish Red Cross and Cáritas Diocesana de Valencia, CaixaBank has activated all operational channels for donations. Contributions can be made via branches, digital banking, ATMs, and Bizum, enabling customers to provide relief to those most affected by the disaster.
