Kowloon’s first pet-friendly branch at Festival Walk

Recently, Hang Seng enhanced its Festival Walk Branch, introducing Kowloon’s first pet-friendly banking area. This follows the success of Hong Kong’s first pet-friendly branch, which received enthusiastic feedback from customers who enjoy bringing their pets along during visits. At the Festival Walk location, pet owners can now wait in a designated pet-friendly lobby area adjacent to a Smart Teller, providing convenient access to core banking services. Additionally, the branch offers pet-friendly meeting rooms for those who wish to bring their pets to financial consultations.

Age-friendly service area at Shatin branch

Simultaneously, Hang Seng has focused on age-friendly enhancements at its Shatin Branch. Recognizing that over half of its transactions come from customers aged 65 or above, the bank has created a service area specifically designed to meet the needs of elderly clients. This includes ergonomic seating, accessible transaction counters, and non-slip flooring. Drawing on the Architectural Services Department’s 'Elderly-friendly Design Guidelines,' the area also offers improved signage, wheelchair accessibility, and dedicated parking, making banking easier and more comfortable for elderly customers.

Building a diverse and inclusive banking experience

Rannie Lee, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking at Hang Seng, emphasized the bank’s commitment to inclusive banking: “As Hong Kong’s largest local bank, we aim to meet our customers' evolving needs while staying connected to our community. Our Future Banking service concept combines innovation with inclusivity, creating environments where both pet owners and elderly customers can feel welcomed and supported.”

Through these initiatives, Hang Seng is setting a new standard for inclusive, accessible banking in Hong Kong, helping to make financial services more welcoming and barrier-free for all.
