28/10/2024News

OCBC Bank and Disney have entered a strategic five-year collaboration, expanding OCBC's footprint across Southeast Asia in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Aiming to quadruple its new customer acquisitions in the region, OCBC becomes the first bank in Southeast Asia to introduce an immersive program with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars-themed banking experiences.

This collaboration brings special offerings like exclusive debit and credit card designs, interactive marketing campaigns, and engaging financial literacy content inspired by popular Disney characters. Customers will gain access to unique perks, such as Disney+ Premium subscriptions in Singapore and Malaysia and collectible Disney-themed merchandise, including limited-edition OCBC pins.

Innovation Masters: Financial literacy for kids

Disney and Marvel-themed OCBC cards and branch experiences

Launching in Singapore, the collaboration coincides with the soft launch of the OCBC MyOwn Account on the OCBC app. The OCBC Wisma Atria branch will be transformed into a Disney and Marvel-themed experience center, with photo zones featuring beloved characters like Stitch, Elsa, Iron Man, and Spider-Man. Customers will also enjoy the unique opportunity to "meet and greet" a character from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch.

Financial literacy for young savers with Disney comics and activities

Financial literacy is a focal point of this collaboration. Comics, activity sheets, and digital resources featuring Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph characters, Ralph and Vanellope, will introduce young savers to financial concepts in an entertaining way. OCBC plans to distribute over 100,000 comic copies to students in 110 secondary schools in Singapore, helping children and teens learn essential money management skills in an approachable, story-driven format.

According to Mr. Sunny Quek, Head of Global Consumer Financial Services at OCBC, this collaboration goes beyond traditional banking. By blending financial services with Disney's world-renowned storytelling, OCBC hopes to attract a broad new customer base and offer a distinctively enchanting banking experience across Southeast Asia.
