23/10/2024 News

According to an article by The Korea Times, Hana Bank has recently opened a branch in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, specifically designed to cater to foreign customers. The new Pyeongtaek Foreign Customer Center aims to enhance access to financial services for expatriates living in Pyeongtaek, Hwaseong, Anseong, and surrounding areas, where a significant number of foreign workers reside.

Specialized financial services tailored for expatriates

Hana Bank, a leading institution in foreign exchange services, has emphasized that the branch will offer specialized financial services tailored to meet the unique needs of international clients. The facility features a state-of-the-art, real-time AI-based multilingual translation system that supports 38 languages, including English, Thai, and Malay. This innovative technology allows foreign clients to communicate seamlessly with bank staff in their native languages, eliminating language barriers during transactions.

Enhanced banking experience with digital devices and foreign staff

In addition to language support, the Pyeongtaek branch is equipped with digital devices that provide banking guidance and assistance with various forms. To further enhance the customer experience, foreign staff members have been assigned to assist expatriates.

Convenient Sunday banking hours for foreign workers

The branch will also operate every Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, making it convenient for foreign workers who may find it challenging to visit the bank during regular weekdays.

Community space for expat clients with educational programs

A dedicated community space for expats will offer educational programs such as Korean language classes and social networking events, in collaboration with local organizations.

Hana Bank’s commitment to supporting foreign residents in Korea

Hana Bank CEO Lee Seung-lyul expressed optimism about the Pyeongtaek center's potential, stating that it aims not only to provide customized financial services but also to serve as a global communication hub for foreign residents in Korea. With this new initiative, Hana Bank continues to innovate and adapt its services to meet the evolving needs of its international clientele.
