On September 11th, the center of Saint-Malo became more vibrant for a day as locals and tourists explored the AXA Prévention House, a mobile pop-up space created by AXA Prévention, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting awareness of everyday risks. This free and accessible space offered an engaging experience, where visitors participated in games and quizzes to learn how to prevent risks related to climate, health, digital safety, and road safety.
The interactive event took place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Belvedere near the Palais du Grand Large in Saint-Malo and was the first stop of AXA Prévention’s traveling micro-house, which will continue to other regions of France in the coming weeks.
The concept behind the AXA Prévention House is to bring simplicity and responsibility to life. The setup mirrored the layout of a typical home, and each room was designed to highlight practical tips and simple actions visitors could take to manage four major areas of risk:
• Climate and environment: While 85% of French people want to contribute to a sustainable future, many don’t know where to start. To encourage practical action, AXA Prévention distributed water-saving kits that can cut household water usage in half.
• Digital safety: Despite 82% of children aged 9-11 being familiar with the concept of cyberbullying, more than half are unsure of what to do when they witness it. As part of the event, children received a keychain with the number 3018, a hotline for bullying and cyberbullying, to ensure they always have help within reach.
• Health: Each year in France, 11 million everyday accidents occur, making it the fourth leading cause of death. Visitors were invited to play a card game that taught or refreshed important life-saving skills, helping people feel more prepared to handle emergencies.
• Road safety: To encourage cyclists to wear protective gear, AXA Prévention gave away bike helmets during the event. Helmets can reduce the risk of serious head injuries by up to 70% in the event of an accident.
For 40 years, AXA Prévention has been working to foster responsible behavior. As we face pressing challenges like climate change, our growing reliance on technology, road safety concerns, and health risks, AXA Prévention reminds us that we all have a role to play. Often, it’s the small, consistent actions we take that can make a big difference.
Eric Lemaire, President of AXA Prévention, emphasized the importance of these efforts, highlighting that simple changes in our daily habits can contribute to a safer, more sustainable world.
Saint-Malo was just the beginning—this innovative traveling event will soon make its way to other regions across France, continuing to spread awareness and encourage positive actions in local communities.
