Cardholders also gain instant elite status in Hilton’s loyalty program. The Hilton Honors Debit Card grants Silver Status, while the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card offers Gold Status, with benefits such as free breakfasts, complimentary Wi-Fi, and room upgrades.

These cards use open banking technology, enabling users to spend directly from their bank accounts both in the UK and abroad, while avoiding typical foreign exchange fees. This makes international spending seamless and cost-effective.

Heather Laverne, Hilton’s Vice President, calls the cards a “game-changer,” allowing guests to earn points and enjoy Hilton’s travel perks. Currensea’s co-founder, James Lynn, adds that their technology saves travelers money by offering competitive exchange rates and cutting out typical bank fees.

With these new cards, Hilton offers travelers more rewards and savings, enhancing the overall travel experience.
