RBC's Mydoh launches in Quebec to help raise money-smart kids

Mydoh, a youth money management app powered by RBC, has launched in Quebec, offering parents a new way to teach their children financial literacy. A recent survey by Mydoh revealed that 85% of Quebec parents find certain aspects of financial education challenging, even though 83% agree it's important to start early.

Mydoh provides a platform that helps families build financial habits together. With its Smart Cash Card and no monthly fees, it allows children to learn about budgeting, saving, and spending responsibly. Brigitte Felx, an RBC financial planner, says Mydoh gives parents the tools to support their kids in developing essential financial skills.

"Teaching children about money management can seem overwhelming for parents," Felx explains. "Mydoh helps make those lessons easier and more accessible."

The app connects financial lessons to real-life activities like "odd jobs" or chores, which many Quebec children take on as a first step toward earning money. According to Mydoh’s survey, babysitting remains the most popular odd job, followed by lawn mowing and gardening. These early experiences provide a great opportunity for parents to discuss managing money with their kids.

Mydoh ambassador and mother of three, Mélissa Bédard, says, "Mydoh is easy to use, colorful, and makes teens want to use it. It’s been a great tool for reinforcing financial lessons at home."

Now available in French on iOS and Android, Mydoh empowers nearly 200,000 Canadian users to raise money-smart kids, helping them build a solid financial foundation for the future.
