Turkish insurer Aksigorta won bronze in the Re-imagining the Customer Experience category at the Qorus Innovation in Insurance Awards 2024 with its embedded credit card insurance, which covers card debt in the event of involuntary unemployment (read the full case study). Egemen Aydın, Digital Applications and Bancassurance Manager at Aksigorta, reflects on their victory in Lisbon and tells us a little more about the project.
Can you introduce yourself and tell us more about your role at Aksigorta?
I am Egemen Aydın, I have worked in various roles in the Bancassurance field at Aksigorta for more than 10 years. My current position is Digital Applications and Bancassurance Manager.
What made you most proud of the embedded card debt insurance project? What was your greatest achievement in making it happen?
The motto of our IT department is ‘Value Creation’. I can say that producing an output suitable for this purpose in our embedded insurance project made the whole team proud.
What is the most important thing you would tell someone considering embarking on a similar project?
Although the embedded insurance approach is embedded behind another main service, as its name suggests, it is an approach that can achieve striking results in terms of business results and customer experience when positioned together with the right products.
What's coming next for the embedded card debt insurance project?
Our short- to medium-term goals include positioning embedded insurance products behind loan processes.
What would you say to companies that might consider entering the 2025 Insurance Innovation Awards?
I can recommend that they closely follow the changing trends in their sector and keep the customer at the forefront in their projects.
