Allianz Partners and Cosmo Connected announce global partnership for micromobility safety

Allianz Partners and Cosmo Connected have entered into a global strategic partnership to enhance the safety of micromobility users. This collaboration introduces a groundbreaking insurance protection embedded directly within the Cosmo Fusion helmet.

Cosmo Connected, a Paris-based startup known for its innovative helmets with features like automatic brake lights, turn signals, fall detection, and SMS alerts, is launching "Cosmo Care." This product line includes the Cosmo Fusion connected helmet, equipped with IoT technology to track user movements and certify accidents, allowing for comprehensive insurance coverage by Allianz Partners.

The Cosmo Care service, available for €9.99 per month over 24 months, ensures that users wearing the Cosmo Fusion helmet receive Personal Accident Insurance, covering their entire body in the event of a serious accident. Launching in France in June, the service will soon expand to other European markets. Additional insurance coverages are planned for future release.

As micromobility options like e-scooters and e-bikes grow in popularity, so do associated risks. In France alone, there are over 5 million active users, with serious accidents involving plug-in electric vehicles increasing by 320% between 2019 and 2023. Many users mistakenly believe they are personally covered in case of an accident, often insuring their vehicles without considering personal protection. The Cosmo Fusion helmet addresses this gap with advanced safety features and integrated insurance coverage.

Romain Afflelou, founder of Cosmo Connected, emphasized the importance of effective and affordable safety solutions. "Surviving an accident has motivated me even more to make safety both effective and affordable. Cosmo Care is our response to a gap. By partnering with Allianz Partners, we offer affordable, tailor-made safety."

Jean-Marc Pailhol, Chief Officer of Global Strategic Partnerships at Allianz Partners, remarked, "This new partnership enables us to offer micromobility users a truly innovative and fully integrated insurance solution to enhance their peace of mind and safety.”

This partnership represents a significant step forward in improving micromobility safety, offering users a comprehensive solution combining advanced technology with tailored insurance coverage.
