ABANCA has launched B100, a groundbreaking digital banking initiative introduced at the Museum of Natural Sciences of the CSIC in Madrid. B100 pioneers a new category termed Healthy Banking, offering a financial suite comprising three accounts and a debit card. The CEO of B100, Jorge Mahía, along with Paloma Barreiro and Luis Franqueira, presented this innovative venture.
Clients can swiftly sign up for the B100 Account for daily transactions, the interest-bearing Save Account for savings, and the unique Health Account, which rewards healthy habits like walking or running. Jorge Mahía emphasized, "No bank in the world has yet linked savings with health to contribute to improving people's well-being, with such clear benefits."
To address environmental concerns, B100 pledges 25% of revenue from "Pay to Save" card transactions to combat marine pollution. Through the app, clients track plastic consumption per purchase, supporting a collaboration with Gravity Wave to remove plastic from oceans.
Technologically, B100 marks a milestone for ABANCA, enhancing its banking core to offer "banking as a service" for two brands.
B100's offerings extend to tools facilitating effortless savings, such as various rounding options and scheduled transfers.
The brand concept revolves around Healthy Banking, signifying a desire to live a full, healthy life (B100, Be hundred), emphasizing international aspirations.
Mahía outlined a phased launch strategy, targeting an initial 4,000 clients to spearhead a broader community dedicated to personal and planetary health.
