After an event rich in learnings and participants last June in Milan, the Qorus Reinvent Forum arrives in Dubai, UAE, on October 11 and 12, 2023.
"If I had to define the central theme of this event, I'd say what the future has in store for financial services," says Fahim uz Zaman, Qorus Regional Director, Middle East & Africa, and organizer of the conference.
Once again, the Reinvent Forum brings together a line-up of global industry innovators and disruptors. "Bringing together selected experts from all over the world is one of our strengths and it is one of our missions to facilitate networking and be a catalyst for reinvention," explains John Berry, CEO of Qorus.
There will be plenty of talk about the future, with Pedro Sousa Cardos, Chief Digital Officer of Retail Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, explaining his vision of the future of banking and the strategy he is putting in place to make it a reality.
And with technology, and in particular AI, being key players in the future, there will be ample fuel for discussion, with presentations from Oguz Taner Okutan, Head of Retail Banking Marketing at Isbank, Yousuf Amin, EVP Operation Services & Technology at Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company (ADNIC), Gurhan Cam, Founder & CEO of Neohub, and Charles Mudiwa, CEO of DFCU Bank. Digital transformation must improve the customer experience, which is often frustrating on digital channels – this will be the focus of a presentation by Heny R. Aguda, President & CEO of UnionDigital Bank.
Finally, there will be also be talk of ecosystems that will enable financial institutions to be more present in their customers' lives, while also generating new sources of revenue. Fernando Morillo, Senior Executive Vice President and Group Head of Retail Banking at Mashreq, and Dinesh Sharma, Wealth & Personal Banking CEO at HSBC EMEA, are eagerly awaited to address this crucial topic.
Also on the program are two events organized by the Qorus Communities team. One by the Digital Reinvention Community (‘Redefining finance – Embracing open, embedded and digital transformation’) and the other by the SME Banking Community (‘Empowering tomorrow's business – Reinventing, digitizing and elevating customer experience’). "We offer events and online content for our members throughout the year. The Reinvent Forum Dubai will be a wonderful opportunity to meet physically, but also to welcome conference participants who don't yet know our communities," says Lukas Dzuroska, Head of Communities at Qorus.
And since the future is all about innovation, Qorus will be organizing the first edition of its regional awards, the Qorus Reinvention Awards - MEA which will recognize the most innovative financial institutions in the Middle East and Africa, alongside the Reinvent Forum. "When you receive between 500 and 800 projects a year, and in the end you only reward around 30, that means there are plenty of cutting-edge projects that don't receive awards. Doing regional awards will allow us to highlight more projects that are often just as deserving as the winners of the global awards," explains John Berry.
