Nils T. Kohle is the Founder and Director of OWNR, a German proptech startup specialized in real estate leasing. We spoke with him about the development of this practice of leasing with an option to purchase, which could well compete in the long term with the traditional real estate loan.
What led to the creation of OWNR?
I was working for Engel & Völkers and wanted to solve a problem: many people visit a flat, but are not buying. The reasons are not enough equity and not a 110% fit – most of the time. These things couldn’t be solved by a brokerage, so I tried to find a way to make these two things not a problem anymore.
