Swiss startup Pelt8 is one of the five winners of the fourth edition of the LHOFT Catapult: Kickstarter program. Its Co-Founder & Chief Commercial Officer, Gwen Jettain, tells us about the company’s solution that supports clients on their sustainability journey.
What led to the creation of Pelt8?
In 2015, my co-founder Julian went to Kyrgyzstan and Georgia on an internship with a microfinance institution. To determine the credit worthiness of a specific entrepreneur, they had defined a set of non-financial indicators that allowed them to assess the ability and potential to repay to about 95% certainty. This was the first case he saw of non-financial data being used so prominently on a financial case. With the EU regulations on corporate sustainability and sustainable finance progressing, he believed that there would be an opportunity to help businesses bring sustainability related metrics at a comparable level to financial data to drive business decisions.
