Co-Founder & CPO

Leitha Matz is Co-Founder & CPO of finmarie, a fintech that is providing financial education for women and self-determination in planning their financial futures.

What led to the creation of finmarie?

I met my co-founder Karolina Decker at a networking session several years ago. It was a cocktail session with women in business leadership. She was working with Deutsche Bank, and I was founding a fintech startup, but as we talked, we realized that women weren't talking or focusing enough on the big financial topics in their lives, like investment, insurance and the gaps in pay and pensions. We first started a meetup called Mind the Gap to get these conversations flowing, and it was so popular, Karolina established finmarie to serve the needs of this audience. She worked for a few years on individual financial coaching and last year we saw the need to scale the business with technology and marketing. We acquired some seed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds and wallstreet:online AG. I joined as a co-founder along with Rica Klitzke, a really experienced brand manager.
