It has just become possible to set up, delete and adjust regular transfers in the Danske mobile bank app, making it even easier for customers to do their banking where and when they want.

Danske Bank’s customers on average log in to their mobile bank app 18 times a month and just once to eBanking, which is designed to be used from a computer.

A lot of people are getting ready for their summer holidays at the moment, and not everyone will be taking a computer along.

So when a credit card has to be blocked, a bill paid, subscriptions cancelled or money has to be transfered internationally, many reach for their mobile phone.

And now users can also take care of something else from the sun lounger, train or holiday home: setting up, deleting and adjusting regular transfers.

Even though nine out of ten of the bank’s customers open their mobile bank app to check their accounts, this improvement is the result of customer feedback:

“Customers made us aware they lacked this option as an alternative to making changes at home from their computer or over the phone with an advisor at the other end,” says Dennis Kristjansen, Head of everyday banking for individuals in Danske Bank.

“We move fast and are continually implementing new functions and improvements to ensure we keep up with our customers’ wishes and expectations for what a bank that you can have in your pocket should be capable of,“ he adds.

Not a new trend

Research from BEC almost ten years ago showed that the banks’ mobile bank apps were already close to overtaking computer-based online banking, but that trend has exploded. Danske Bank’s customers on average log in to their mobile bank app 18 times a month and just once to eBanking, which is designed to be used from a computer.

In 2021, some 268,000 customers set up or adjusted regular payments made via Danske Bank. Around 216,000 of these customers took care of this themselves via eBanking, while the remaining 52,000 got help with the setting up process from an advisor.

It should be easy

The ongoing development of Danske Bank’s mobile bank app is part of our broader work to make using the bank easy – one of the ways of becoming a better bank for our customers.

“Banking was easy with eBanking, but now it is even easier with the Danske mobile bank app. We move fast and are continually implementing new functions and improvements to ensure we keep up with our customers’ wishes and expectations for what a bank that you can have in your pocket should be capable of,” says Dennis Kristjansen.
